Vampire Diaries Reaction Post

happyevraftrOh you guys, I can't even begin to tell you the amount of happiness and freedom I feel this morning. The horrid week of massive amounts of homework is done and I survived!!!! teamcanon. I can't post them until tomorrow, but I'm just SO excited about them. Two very odd pairings I NEVER would have thought to write on my own. It really just felt good to write again in general. My schedule has kept me so busy that I haven't had the time.
I didn't get a chance to see The Secret Circle last night, but I did see the new Vampire Diaries. Here is my initial reaction:

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't do a reaction post last night cus that was literaly as coherent a thought I was able to form on the matter ^^ Click on the cut for my more in depth thoughts.
What I loved:
*Getting a reminder that the stars really are high school kids and had normal lives a year ago. That they're your "typical" small town people that have grown up knowing each other their entire lives and they really are close.
*THIS SHOW NEVER LEAVES YOU WAITING!!!! After last weeks previews I was expecting some regular storyling about the senior prank night and like halfway through Klaus would show up. but nope BAM he's there in the first freaking scene!
*Stefan being all badass ripper! Stefan. I may have cried a little when he stabbed himself with the broom *guh* that really was sad
*I thought they did a FANTASTIC job with the transition of Stefan shutting off his emotions. Rather than doing like a cut away and then he looks up and all black eyed...they let us be right there in his face. It was nice and slow and you could see his struggle until finally he gave in and the black veins started appearing. So creepy and dark.
*Matt's storyling actually wasn't nearly as awful as I though it would be. I actually liked him again in this episdoe. Granted I thought the Bonnie/Matt vibe that was going on was really odd. It came off more as that 'we've known each other our whole lives' friendship, but it was just weird cus we haven't seen that aspect of their relationship in a long long long time.
*Jeremy...just really, when did he get so hott? I am conflcited about this Anna business though cus I shipped them so hard- but she's dead! So confused.
*Damon ditching Katherine and saying "I wouldn't do it for you". YAY! He loves Elena bitch and he's not afraid to say it!!!
*Damon carrying Elena out of the hospital. This show is trying to kill me. Tyler carrying Care last episode and now Damon carrying Elena...it's just so knight in shining armor and I LOVE it.
*That last scene between Damon and Elena was my favorite of the entire episode. Yeah, we know Damon loves Elena but this is the first time we really got to see it imo. Pure, unselfish love and concern for her was written all over his face. His eyes and face didn't harbor ANY of Damon's usual facade and it just about KILLED me. Then the whole "I promise I will never leave you again." *tear* I love them.
*Katherine waking up big ass vampire vampire hunter. This is going to be exciting! I think her hatred of Klaus is even more than I realized though- I think she would be a little nervous he will eventually want to kill her too
*Klaus in general. He really is just one of my favorite bad guys ever. He has so much depth to his character that we're still discovering.
What I didn't love:
*I'm worried just as the rest of the fandom that eventually after they kill Klaus (which I actually find really really sad) and Stefan gets control back that Elena will forgive him cus "Klaus made me do it". Honestly though...I'm getting to the point that I actually trust these writers. Even if the show twists in a way I don't particularly like, I have enough faith that it will still be really good and I'll get on board eventually.
*THEY TRIED TO KILL MY BB TYLER!!!!!! I mean sure, it's going to be cool he's a hybrid, and my Forwood shipper heart was squeeing in joy (cus WOOT they can be together FOREVER now *bounces*) However, I just about died when Klaus snapped his neck. I was screaming and flailing and my husband said I was scary lol. Also, with the spoilers coming up of Care and him having issues--well now we can assume its from being a hybrid.
*Rebecca really needs to go. I mean, she's a well done character but god is she ANNOYING!!!!
*Why isn't my other bb Elijah back yet? No really, WHY?
I say it all the time and I know it gets old but....I FREAKING LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!

Although I agree, I hope Elena doesn't forgive him right away, even though I feel like she might because that's just the kind of person she is. But we'll see I guess, like you, I trust the writers, basically everything else they've done has been amazing.

THIS WAS MY EXACT THOUGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I love them so much, I hope his being a hybrid doesn't ruin things between them!
And there was a weird vibe going on with Matt and Bonnie, we haven't seen them interact much so that whole storyline just seemed a little strange to me, I mean I guess they have known each other forever but still. I did like that they talked about how its only been a year since all this started (really? a year? It seems like its been so much longer!) and how they touched on Matt feeling like he's the only one who doesn't have some kind of strange supernatural things going on. (not anymore though I guess.)
I JUST LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH!
