holidays are wonderful but crazy!

I haven't disappeared- really guys. The holiday time is making me crazy busy! Not to mention job hunting in the midst of all that. Good news is I have pretty much all my shopping done and the presents I do have are wrapped! WOOT! My husband is responsible for his brother, father-in-law and my best friends husband so I'm not sure how that's going. Men. *rolls eyes* Only person I'm not sure about is my own brother. He's so hard to buy for! My mom said warm socks but I dunno. He's from a big city so there's not really anything I can get him that he couldn't get himself. Well, besides the wine I'm getting both him and my sister-in-law because they don't have it back home.

Anyways, I still feel pretty happy that even though we're flat broke, our gifts are pretty decent. I made a whole bunch of them actually. Made necklaces for my sister-in-law, mom and friends daughter. And my husband did some drawings for his mom and aunt. They will prolly like them more than anything we could have bought anyway.

Right now I'm trying to decide if I'm supposed to get a gift for a friend who hasn't spoke to me in over a year and randomly text me asking if we could get together over the holidays. This girl was my best friend for my entire life and then we had this huge falling out. She couldn't stop being mad at me for stupid shit I did when I was an idiot teenager. So I finally stopped trying to make things better and let her go. Now all of a sudden she wants to talk. Part of me is so hopeful to repair that relationship, but the other part of me would rather not go down that road. And then there's the whole do I get her a gift? We used to exchange gifts every xmas even if it was small. *grumble* maybe I'll just get her a Starbucks giftcard and if she doesn't bring a gift I can just use the card lmao.

I'm still trying to catch up on all the [livejournal.com profile] merlin_holidays fic. It's all sooooo good!!!!!!! Love and miss you all flist. I'm getting lots of cards and when I have a second I'll go through and thank you all- they're so very beautiful and you have no idea how happy it makes me getting mail from people. Have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone! *hugs*

I feel your pain, Christmas shopping/gift making is the bane of my holiday break every year. There's always that one person who it's impossible to figure out a gift for.

As for your friend, what about a scarf? They're relatively cheap to buy or easy to make, you can pick a color you know she likes so she can see you put some thought into it, and if you get there and it's not a situation where you want to give gifts then you just have an extra scarf. Either way, good luck, I hope you manage work things out. ♥

Merry Whatever! :D

There you are! I haven't caught up to all the merlin_holidays fics either. I'm only taking a break from wrapping to eat dinner. I made DiGiorno. I got your card, it was beautiful! And it gave me the warm fuzzies. My mom is being as nosy and controlling as she can be from a distance. i went to meet with the college advisor about my transfer! It's exciting. My mom stampeded over the entire meeting but it's over now. Thankfully. We just kind of tune her out and get the real talking out of the way when she's not there. I think the advisor got that.

Anyway, I've MISSED YOU!

The netbook can't handle mibbit. :( I'm going into withdrawals.4 sleeps to Christmas!

I totally know what you mean about the holidays being stressful, I still haven't finished all my Christmas shopping and haven't even started wrapping! All your presents sound great though, I wish I had some kind of crafty side and could make presents for people, handmande things always seem so much more meaningful.

For your friend, I guess maybe something small? Although it sounds like she just wants to talk and maybe reconnect, I doubt she's be expecting a present. You could bring something just in case she does, something that you could use yourself or give to someone else if you don't end up giving it to her.

I'm loving [livejournal.com profile] merlin_holidays too but I'm so behind! I've been trying to read most of the shorter ones and still need to tackle some of the longer ones, hopefully I'll be able to do that over break!

Home-made gifts are always better imo. When I know people actually put thought and effort and made some specifically for me, it makes it all the more special ♥

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas sweetie!
